History

It all Started in the year 1960 with a group of local citizens seeing the need to protect the community in which they lived, waiting on fire trucks from neighboring communities was not acceptable to them. In 1961, the department was formed, and a charter was recognized. These same members started the company using their own money and started to purchase firefighting equipment. These few members had the foresight and dedication to do whatever was needed to make the company successful.

The first fire house was located on New Franklin Road in the old New Franklin Band Hall Building, that building remained our home until 1976 when we moved into our current facility. In 1986, we celebrated our 25th Anniversary our first milestone. Even though we are still only young in years we have already created a tradition of providing excellent fire and rescue services, a trademark of hard work and dedication, the same qualities our founding members had.
